Robert Grooms is General Manager of Queen Boss Construction, the licensed general contracting firm he leads. Based in the Lake Norman area north of Charlotte, Robert oversees day-to-day operations across small commercial upfits, residential renovations and government construction projects — work that carries QBC’s licensure in North Carolina, South Carolina and Louisiana.

His focus is on the parts of construction that clients rarely see but always feel: airtight contracts, disciplined preconstruction, clean cost tracking, and a delivery process that holds up under scrutiny. Robert has built much of QBC’s operational backbone himself, from estimating standards to the SOPs that keep projects predictable from bid to closeout. He works closely with architects, designers and public agencies, and brings a practical, risk-aware approach to every project QBC takes on.

Jessica brings a distinctive blend of creativity, organization and business expertise to every project. With degrees in both Accounting and Interior Design, she combines a strong understanding of budgets, timelines and financial details with a refined eye for design.

Her professional experience includes working with a commercial development firm in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as staging, interior design and project coordination for custom luxury homes. Jessica is passionate about creating beautiful, functional spaces while ensuring each project is thoughtfully planned, carefully managed and executed to the highest standard.

I’m a home designer and real estate professional with a refined eye for creating spaces that feel elevated, intentional and timeless. My work blends interior design, renovation, space planning, finish selections and real estate to help clients see the true potential of a property.

I approach every home with both creativity and strategy — considering how layout, materials, lighting, finishes and architectural details work together to create a cohesive experience. Whether reimagining an existing home or helping a client evaluate a new property, my focus is on thoughtful design, quality, functionality and lasting value.

Alvin Blackmon is a proud United States Army veteran who served as an Army Engineer with the distinguished 82nd Airborne Division. His military service instilled the discipline, leadership, adaptability and strong work ethic that have defined his professional career.

With more than 40 years of hands-on construction experience and over 30 years in commercial and residential project management, Alvin brings exceptional knowledge and practical expertise to every project. His experience encompasses construction operations, project planning, team leadership, problem-solving and the coordination of complex projects from initial development through successful completion.

Recognized for his professionalism, dependability and unwavering commitment to quality, Alvin combines military values with decades of construction experience. His steady leadership and results-driven approach make him a respected and highly valued member of any project team.

As a Certified Professional Building Designer and Professional Member of the American Institute of Building Design, I realize there is much more to designing a living environment than simply arranging rooms. The process of a successful design begins with the ability to listen to a client and help them to visualize a space and realize their design intent.

There are not only aesthetic issues to consider but also structural design and code requirements to follow. During a project, I use all of the resources at my disposal to help you understand and to guide the project to a design that meets all of these factors.
